This market-leading Listed and Inbound (“L&I”) Corporate Tax Disputes Team currently consists of 20 tax dispute specialists, focusing on corporate tax. We serve large, high-profile clients across various sectors.
Our experienced team offers comprehensive tax dispute services, including advising on tax governance, proactive engagement with HMRC, handling complex tax inquiries (such as HRCP and PDCF), negotiating with HMRC, and reaching settlements. We seek an experienced Tax Disputes Manager, with background in professional practice or as a former tax inspector, to join our London office at Embankment Place.
What your days will look like:
* Collaborate with national Tax Dispute specialists and the broader L&I tax team on advisory projects.
* Assist clients in managing tax governance and interactions with HMRC and international authorities.
* Own projects, interact directly with clients, and explore their business issues and needs.
* Work under senior guidance to advise clients on options.
* Engage in business development to secure new projects.
* Support clients in resolving complex disputes with tax authorities.
* Work alongside UK's leading experts in the field.
* Demonstrate knowledge of HMRC’s powers, tax law, and practice.
* Leverage experience in engaging with HMRC for dispute resolution.
This role is for you if:
* You have experience dealing with HMRC enquiries/investigations.
* You have worked with large corporate clients.
* You understand HMRC structure, policies, and procedures.
* You know key tax administration legislation (Information powers, Penalties, Assessments, Enquiries, Senior Accounting Officer regime).
* You possess project management skills.
* You have strong analytical skills.
* You demonstrate interpersonal and team-working skills.
* You have relationship-building skills.
* You hold an ACA or CTA qualification or HMRC inspector training.
