Payrate : £38. We are bound by the MoC, which means pay rates are capped. Whist we are able to pay up to £40, this rate is for those deemed to be at Qualified Social Work Practitioner level with over 2 years experience. Please ensure your candidates are aware that the pay rate they request may not be the rate they are offered; managers are assessing skills and competency at interview. If the candidate is being offered less than requested, we will make the reasoning clear whilst providing feedback.
Location -Durban House – Bognor – The staff will be required to travel across the entire county to complete Care Act assessments and s117 reviews.
Working arrangements – Mix of home and office will need to be in the office at least 2- 3 days per week
Job Description : In this exciting role, you will be required to act as a lead professional responsible for delivering a statutory social work service to those people who access or need the service, to include assessment, planning, implementing and review, and being responsible for leading on a specialist area of service delivery, ensuring that key developments are communicated to colleagues and that business change is successfully implemented. You will work effectively in partnership with other staff and voluntary agencies, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the relevant health, voluntary and private services in the area. The role will involve regular exposure to people who access or need the service and/or subject matter which may place significant emotional demands on you, for example significant work involving dealing with highly complex social work cases and leading on safeguarding enquiries. You should be resilient in working with challenging behaviours from those accessing the service. You will act as a senior professional representative for the service by working with a focus on ensuring the effective delivery of services to those people who access or need the service, acting with integrity, professionalism and respect on behalf of the organisation, ensuring at all times that the needs of individuals and the business are paramount. You will also provide regular supervision to other qualified Social Workers within the team. You will remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation and adhere to organisational procedures, policies and codes of conduct as well as Social Work England professional standards in order to uphold a high-quality, seamless service. You will be expected to work within organisational, policy and legislative requirements.

outcomes, whilst prioritising workload and meeting deadlines.
2. Demonstrable evidence of leadership skills when working in partnership with
people, carers, colleagues, and a variety of external agencies in complex
situations to meet people’s outcomes.
3. Expertise of managing situations with complex and competing risks, utilising
a risk enablement approach, and using evidence-based practice. Solution
focussed with the ability to analyse complex situations and provide forward
thinking strategies and solutions that consider a variety of possible strength-
based solutions, balancing risks, resources and desired outcomes.
4. Expertise in leading on safeguarding enquiries.
5. Highly developed communication skills to influence in a multi-disciplinary
setting and communicate clearly and effectively to explain complicated
information to a wide range of people and negotiate and persuade others to
adopt a particular course of action that they may not otherwise wish to take.
6. Able to model and use social work skills in practice, supervision, mentoring
and leadership to develop and maintain an environment in which
professionally curiosity, critical reflection and analysis is valued, staff are
supported their find own solutions and practice capability is developed.
7. Able to employ a range of social work approaches and interventions, based
on theory, research evidence and evaluation, linking theory to practice
including acting as a subject matter expert in one or more specialist areas of
intervention.
8. Working autonomously with a highly complex, varied caseload often involving
managing high levels of risk, prioritising, and organising own work and work
of others to meet agreed performance expectations.
9. Able to diagnose, research, analyse and interpret highly complex or technical
information to make or support effective and robust judgements; and write
reports and implement recommendations. Using evidence gained to inform
good practice and maintain a focus on positive outcomes for service users,
families, carers and communities. Ability to think creatively, innovatively and
laterally and to adapt to changing situations in a measured and flexible
manner to tailor the advice.
10.Ability to be proactive in maintaining up-to-date knowledge and
understanding of changes in legislation and effectively lead and supervise
others to enhance and support legally compliant practice.
Qualifications and/or experience:
• Degree in Social Work or a recognised equivalent Social Work qualification
e.g. Diploma in Social Work.
