A day in the life of a Murphy Transport Planner
Manage and coordinate transport activities, ensuring smooth operations and efficient scheduling of drivers.
Monitor incoming emails and work requests, identifying and taking appropriate action.
Process new jobs requests, liaising closely with sites and our hire teams.
Act as a communication link between site and drivers, ensuring timely updates of any changes as they occur.
Allocate jobs to drivers, providing them clear instructions.
Manage and adapt daily schedules to account for transport issues and changes.

Experience in HGV transport route planning is essential, ideally with knowledge of abnormal loads and driver hours.
Excellent geographical knowledge.
Experience within the construction industry with knowledge of construction plant and equipment an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Well-organized with excellent administration skills.
Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint and email platforms such as Microsoft Outlook
