Personal Advisor
Location: South Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £15.84 per hour
Are you passionate about supporting young people as they transition into independence? We are looking for a dedicated Personal Advisor to join a dynamic team in South Yorkshire, supporting care-experienced young people aged 16–25. In this rewarding role, you will provide both practical and emotional support, helping young people navigate key life challenges such as accommodation, education, employment, finances, and wellbeing. You will be the lead worker for a number of young people, offering personalised support based on thorough assessments and structured pathway planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality support to care-experienced young people aged 16–25, promoting safety, stability, and independence.
2. Complete assessments of need and develop comprehensive pathway plans tailored to individual aspirations and circumstances.
3. Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, including those aged 16–17 and those leaving care post-18.
4. Work in partnership with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate effective support packages.
5. Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices influence service delivery and that their rights are upheld.
6. Provide flexible support, including availability outside of standard office hours where necessary.
7. Support young people at risk of homelessness following assessment and intervention.
Who We’re Looking For:
8. Experience supporting young people in care or leaving care.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and proactive approach.
10. Ability to work independently while remaining supported by senior social workers and managers.
11. Familiarity with pathway planning, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.
12. A flexible and adaptable attitude to meet the diverse needs of young people.
