Inverter Drive Systems Ltd is a leading specialist in the supply, installation, commissioning, repair, and servicing of variable speed drive (VSD) systems across the UK. With a strong customer base and growing demand—particularly across East Anglia—we are looking to expand our engineering team with a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in variable speed drives. The successful candidate will be responsible for on-site installation, commissioning, diagnostics, repair, servicing, and maintenance of VSD equipment in a wide range of industrial environments.
Exposure to ABB drives is a significant advantage and will be highly valued in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair variable speed drives and associated electrical equipment.
* Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across customer sites.
* Conduct fault‑finding and diagnostics to ensure optimal drive performance.
* Provide technical support and advice to customers both on‑site and remotely.
* Complete service reports, documentation, and compliance records accurately.
* Participate in the call‑out rota as required.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working with variable speed drives (VSDs).
* Strong electrical engineering background, ideally with relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
* Practical experience in installation, commissioning, and servicing of industrial electrical systems.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
* Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Good communication and customer‑facing skills.
* Hands‑on experience with ABB drives (a major advantage).
* Knowledge of motor control systems and industrial automation.
* Experience working independently in field‑based roles.
