Akereos Capital is a specialist advisory firm at the forefront of the energy transition, with extensive expertise spanning M&A and strategic advisory, debt advisory, intermediate capital, and market solutions. With over €15bn in transaction volume since 2019 and recognised as one of the premier boutiques in its space across Europe, Akereos has built a reputation for providing unconflicted, high-quality advice to sponsors, developers, and investors across the energy and infrastructure landscape.
As demand for digital infrastructure accelerates, alongside the energy transition, Akereos is expanding its advisory capabilities into the data centre sector — a natural adjacency given our deep expertise in power markets, renewable energy, and infrastructure finance.
The Role
We are seeking a Vice President with 7-9 years of investment banking experience to help build and lead Akereos Capital's data centre M&A advisory practice. This is a senior, client-facing hire that will play a central role in originating and executing transactions across the data centre value chain — from hyperscale campuses and colocation assets to edge infrastructure and AI-driven compute facilities.
The successful candidate will work at the heart of the advisory business and benefit from Akereos' established relationships with infrastructure investors, energy sponsors, and institutional capital providers across Europe and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute M&A advisory mandates across the data centre sector, including buy-side and sell-side transactions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
Originate new mandates by leveraging existing relationships and developing new client relationships across the data centre and digital infrastructure ecosystem.
Prepare and oversee the production of high-quality transaction materials including information memoranda, financial models, valuations, and board-level presentations.
Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with legal, technical, and financial advisers.
Provide strategic advice to clients on market positioning, asset valuation, and transaction structuring.
Work closely with Akereos' energy and markets teams to offer integrated advice on power procurement, grid connectivity, and renewable energy strategy for data centre clients.
Contribute to the development of Akereos' sector expertise, market intelligence, and thought leadership in digital infrastructure.
Requirements
Experience & Background
7-9 years of investment banking experience, with a meaningful track record in M&A advisory.
Demonstrated experience in data centres and digital infrastructure — either in coverage or as part of a broader infrastructure or real assets practice.
Strong financial modelling and valuation skills (DCF, LBO, comparable transactions, NAV).
Experience managing transaction processes end-to-end, including managing junior team members.
Existing client relationships within the data centre and the infrastructure investor ecosystem are a strong advantage.
Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
We run a Pan-European business and as such proficiency in key European languages (German / French / Spanish / Italian) will be an advantage.
Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication — able to produce and present polished, client-ready materials.
Commercial instinct and the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Strong understanding of the intersection between digital infrastructure and energy — including power demand, grid constraints, and sustainability requirements.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple mandates simultaneously.
A collaborative mindset suited to a lean, entrepreneurial team environment.
What We Offer
