Overview
Understanding Client data in the complex ecosystem of transaction banking is difficult but high impact. This role will remove operational impact to clients and enable a richer client experience when interfacing with Barclays services. It supports the Corporate and Transaction Banking strategy across selected regions by building a global understanding of client entity relationships.
Role Summary
Partner with other business units to create a clean and reliable master data service for key Corporate Client data attributes. Deliver operationally excellent data services that can be rolled out for digital applications client‑facing in a phased manner. Collaborate with the Chief Data Office, Chief Operating Office and Data Modernisation team to measure quality, stand up an operations capability, and deliver high‑quality data products that enable analytics and AI use cases.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain data architecture pipelines that enable transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
* Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes managing appropriate data volumes and velocity while adhering to required security measures.
* Develop processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
* Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
Qualifications
* Client Reference / Master Data Management experience in a complex financial services landscape.
* Master Data Quality and Remediation experience.
* Experience driving firm‑wide change using Scaled Agile.
* Experience providing operational data services to digital/client‑facing channels.
* Evidence of leveraging AI for enterprise use cases.
* Awareness of data products and data marketplace.
Leadership Expectations
* Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees.
* Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub‑function.
* Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately.
* Foster and guide compliance, ensuring relevant processes and regulations are observed.
* Engage with external regulators or advocacy groups to monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays when appropriate.
* Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group.
* Maintain broad, comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices.
* Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in complex or sensitive situations.
* Exercise management authority to make significant decisions within own area.
* Negotiate and influence stakeholders at a senior level internally and externally.
* Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/divisions.
* Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
