Are you driven by a passion to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We're seeking caring and committed Support Workers to deliver tailored care and specialist support to individuals with complex health needs across the Bristol area.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in delivering person-centred care based on each individual’s support plan. You’ll work in a variety of environments including:
Children's residential homes
Foster placements
Family homes
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personal care where required – including assistance with washing, dressing, feeding, and hygiene – while promoting dignity and independence.
* Support young people with learning disabilities, enabling access to education, social activities, and personal development opportunities.
* Assist individuals with physical disabilities using hoists and mobility aids to ensure comfort, safety, and active participation.
* Help those with sensory impairments by using accessible communication methods and creating a calm, inclusive environment.
* Respond to challenging behaviours with trauma-informed strategies and positive behaviour support techniques.
* Offer short break care, giving parent carers essential respite while ensuring children are safe, engaged, and well cared for.
* Provide consistent emotional and behavioural support to help build self-esteem and emotional regulation skills.
* Take on both emergency and planned placements, including rapid-response care and coordinated support for more complex cases.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach
Previous experience supporting individuals with complex health, physical, or behavioural needs
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong communication skills with children, families, and professionals
A flexible and reliable attitude
A valid UK driving licence (preferred)
Experience writing care plans is a plus
Essential Requirements:
Background in health, social care, education, or related fields
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Children & Adults)
Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
Minimum of five years' employment references
Legal right to work in the UK (please note: sponsorship is not available)
