About SAVA
All the health information we need is within us. Just below the skin. SAVA is redefining the way people interact with their health by developing the most advanced biosensing technology science has to offer, capable of accessing bodily information in a painless, real-time and affordable way.
The Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Synthetic Chemist to join our Biosensing & In‑vivo Performance team — helping create the materials that make our biosensor technology possible. This is hands‑on, purposeful work, and we need someone who can maintain meticulous records, support scale-up efforts, and be a key contributor to the design and improvement of workflows that bring new ideas to life.
This role is ideal for someone who excels in the lab, loves working through complex challenges, and wants to see their work make a real impact. You will gain exposure to a broad range of analytical tools, collaborate across disciplines, and grow your skills in a fast‑moving, supportive environment where precision and purpose are valued.
What You’ll Do
* Perform routine chemical synthesis and purification of materials used in the production and R&D of biosensors.
* Follow established protocols and update batch records to ensure consistency and reproducibility.
* Carry out basic characterization and quality control (QC) of materials (e.g., NMR, HPLC, UV-Vis).
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, yields, and observations.
* Ensure all materials meet predefined purity and performance specifications.
* Support the scale-up of synthetic procedures as needed for production requirements.
* Assist in the preparation and labeling of reagents and stock solutions for internal use.
* Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
* Adhere to safety protocols and waste disposal procedures.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot synthetic or analytical challenges.
What We’re Looking For
* Some hands-on experience in a synthetic chemistry laboratory setting, through university research, industry positions, or internships.
* Experience with purification techniques (extraction, filtration, chromatography).
* Interest in learning new analytical techniques.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
* Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks and priorities.
* Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with supervision.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in IT tools like Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Understanding of health and safety practices.
Bonus Points For
* Familiarity with air-free synthesis.
* Experience with analytical chemistry techniques (NMR, UV-vis, FTIR, HPLC).
* Experience reviewing and following technical protocols or SOPs.
