THIS ROLE IS PART TIME- OFFERING 14 HOURS PER WEEK Hapag-Lloyd has strong inland growth ambitions, aiming to increase our inland share significantly as part of our Strategy 2030. To support this, we have introduced the new inland delivery concept to enhance our inland operations and services. This role is focused on ensuring efficient and cost-effective inland transport planning in accordance with vendor selection and service level agreements. The Inland Delivery Intern will support the IDT team to monitor vendor performance, handle delays and exceptions, and optimize transport routes to provide excellent service to our customers. The primary objective of this role is to cooperate effectively with colleagues in other areas of the business to increase internal efficiencies and provide significantly improved service quality. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with the other members of the team to Optimize daily transport planning in cooperation with our customers and vendors. • Prioritize cost-efficiency in accordance with agreed service level requirements. • Create work orders to and from rail/port for all import and export cargo. • Handle on-carriage activities before vessel arrival including arranging any storage. • Contact colleagues and customers via e-mail and phone when additional information is needed for inland activities of CH shipments. • Support the wider IDT team members to Investigate and problem solve for complex carrier haulage shipments. • Support with the resolution of disputes relating to inland costs. • Support the IDT Specialists with daily administrative processes PERSON SPECIFICATION • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service. • Good verbal and written communication skills • A willingness to learn the Hapag Lloyds Processes and Procedures • A team player who takes responsibility and accountability. • The ability to work proactively in a structured, organised and analytical manner. • Be able to work in multiple systems and supportive of digital transformation
