Job Description
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our world-class Engineering Team.
This is a key role where you will carry out specification and system level design of car and test rig electrical and electronics systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers from all design groups, taking a holistic view to solve problems and deliver a product that meets both user needs and organisational objectives for our most performant systems, both on track and at the factory.
While this role is predominantly factory-based in Grove, there will be some occasional travel to race events.
As a Senior Systems Engineer you will:
* Work with stakeholders to define and document system technical and functional requirements.
* Design of overall structure and architecture of complex car and rig systems to ensure requirements are met and individual components integrated effectively, including creation of topographical diagrams to document system design and architecture.
* Oversee the integration, detail design and testing of the various elements of the system to ensure it functions as intended.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges arising during testing, development and use, both at the factory and at the track.
* Define testing, service and maintenance requirements though the systems lifecycle.
* Complete frequent analysis to improve performance, reliability and efficiency and to reduce cost.
* Mentor more junior engineers within the team.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has:
* Prior experience of system level design, or design experience of the relevant system components, such as harnessing, sensing devices and data loggers.
* Proficiency in using Electrical CAD wiring design software.
* In-depth understanding of electrical and electronic assemblies, including MIL-spec wiring harnesses and connectors.
* Experience with Raychem harness systems, Autosport connectors, and Motorsport ECU systems is highly desirable.
* Good working knowledge of data logging equipment and sensing devices.
* Good working knowledge of architecture as well as a range of communication protocols such as CAN and Ethernet.
* Able to integrate and work collaboratively with personnel at every level within the organisation.
* An organised mindset with the ability to clearly prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
