We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, part time (30 hours per week delivered across 4 days) Parent Coach (Senior Family Support Worker) to join our service. This countywide role (delivering predominantly in Rugby or Nuneaton and Bedworth districts) will deliver a broad range of parenting interventions in addition to professional training. The Family and Relationship Offer in Warwickshire is delivered by a focused Family and Relationship Support Team who lead on the coordination, development and delivery of programmes across the county facilitating with colleagues from across the Children and Families service and wider network.
The Family and Relationship Support Team deliver across the county in venues and through a virtual offer in response to the needs of families which will include delivery during the day, evenings and weekends by prior agreement. This role will also act as the locality link for Rugby or Nuneaton and Bedworth liaising with partners in the area, analysing locality data and developing the offer in response to this.
The post holder will be confident in the delivery of information and parenting interventions to a broad audience including:
* Parents and carers
* Colleagues in Children and Families
* Colleagues in the voluntary and community sector
* Colleagues in education and learning including schools and early years
The successful candidate needs to proficient at using ICT and Teams and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The parenting offer consists of 2-hour workshops covering a broad range of topics and longer relational based programmes as part of our stepped approach.
About the Role
Essential experience to be successful in the role includes:
* A Relevant child and family qualification and equivalent experience. A minimum of NVQ Level Four or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject and substantial experience as a Family Support Worker.
* Proven track record of continuous professional development in relevant parenting programmes in line with the Warwickshire Parenting Approach such as Solihull Approach including "Train the Trainer" and Centre for Emotional Health programmes. Additional training will be provided.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience of demonstrably effective continuous Family Support Work coupled with delivery of specialist interventions, partnership work, coaching, mentoring or supervisory duties.
* Ability to travel across the county. Holds a full clean driving licence with and appropriate insurance cover for business use and has full access to an appropriate vehicle.
* Ability to work on a flexible basis.
* An understanding of family dynamics and child development and how parenting affects the development of the child, as evidenced in case examples.
* Ability and experience to cope with significant emotional demands, caused by contact with the most vulnerable children and families
