Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager or a Senior Project Manager for our Onshore Wind department, focusing on the development phase of projects within the Market Development UK team.
Your role / what will you do?
The Project Manager will lead development activities, managing wind farm projects from feasibility to financial close, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness to meet company targets. Responsibilities include project management, stakeholder engagement, and supporting the construction phase as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Drive projects to successful completion
* Manage wind farm development from feasibility to financial close
* Define, communicate, and achieve project goals and methods
* Create project plans and timelines
* Monitor progress and manage budgets
* Identify and mitigate risks, secure opportunities
* Ensure resource availability
Governance and Reporting
* Provide regular updates to stakeholders
* Maintain project management tools
Strategic Advisory Role
* Offer insights into the UK renewables sector
Stakeholder and Communication Management
* Build relationships with external stakeholders
* Handle public relations and regulatory matters
Environmental and Planning Compliance
* Ensure comprehensive EIA and planning applications
Land and Grid Management
* Secure land rights and grid connection agreements
Technical Development
* Evaluate wind resources and optimize project output
* Design with health, safety, and sustainability in mind
Post-FID Support
* Assist during construction, ensuring compliance and leveraging project knowledge
International Collaboration
* Coordinate with teams across regions to align practices and resources

Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in science, engineering, or relevant field; alternative experience considered
* Experience managing wind farm projects during development
* Experience sourcing renewable sites
* Stakeholder relationship skills
* Understanding of health and safety responsibilities
* Commercial and financial acumen
* Strong integrity and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and in teams
Desirable
* Knowledge of market mechanisms like PPAs or CfDs
* Knowledge of grid regulation, land negotiations, or UK electricity market
* Experience in large-scale projects and cross-cultural work
* Procurement experience and project management qualifications
