Overview
Provide a safe and calm space for people suffering from mental health crisis. This role supports the 24/7 crisis service, delivering compassionate and recovery-focused support, advice and assessment.
Responsibilities
* Conduct telephone assessments across the crisis pathway, validating and de-escalating crisis situations.
* Coach people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies using brief psychological interventions.
* Execute clinical risk assessments, aligning with local policies, safeguarding adult and child, and positive risk management.
* Collaborate with clients, carers, and families to manage distress and crisis effectively within the recovery model of care.
Qualifications
* Mental health professional, including nurses, social workers or occupational therapists.
* Experience in telephone assessment and crisis intervention.
* Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children and legal risk management.
* Emotional resilience when working with high distress content.
