Tendercare Staffing supplies compassionate, reliable and skilled staff to care homes, supported living services, and other social care settings. We work with adults and older people, including those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and mental health needs.
We’re looking for Support Workers who share our values and can step in to support services when they need it most.
The Role
As an Agency Support Worker, you will:
* Work in a variety of care settings depending on bookings (residential care, supported living, homecare, day services etc.)
* Support people with personal care, daily living tasks and social activities
* Promote independence, choice, dignity and respect at all times
* Follow individual care plans and risk assessments
* Record accurate notes and handovers in line with service policies
* Work as part of a wider team of carers, nurses and managers
* Represent Tendercare Staffing professionally on every shift
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care and emotional support
* Assist with washing, dressing, toileting and mobility where required
* Support with meals, hydration and nutrition
* Encourage participation in activities and community access
* Prompt or support with medication in line with training and policies
* Monitor and report any changes in health, mood or behaviour
* Maintain confidentiality, safeguarding and professional boundaries
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Support Worker / Care Assistant (preferred, but some roles may accept new carers with the right attitude)
* Genuine passion for caring for vulnerable people
* Good communication skills – written and verbal
* Reliable, flexible and able to work at short notice
* Able to travel to different services as required
Essential:
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
* Two professional references
* Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete before starting shifts)
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience in any of the following: dementia care, learning disabilities, autism, mental health, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
* Driver with access to a car
