What you'll do:
As an Operations Analyst based in Glasgow, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of client onboarding processes through meticulous KYC research and investigation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing comprehensive case files for supervisor review, staying abreast of regulatory changes affecting client documentation requirements, and collaborating with various internal teams to collect essential information. You will be expected to identify potential risks during document reviews and escalate them efficiently while also acting as a knowledgeable resource on AML/KYC procedures. By managing client due diligence activities and serving as a reliable point of contact for KYC-related queries, you will help ensure that all regulatory obligations are met. Additionally, your involvement in process improvement projects will enable you to contribute positively to the evolution of operational practices within the team. Success in this role requires not only technical expertise but also strong interpersonal skills to foster effective partnerships across departments.
* Conduct thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) research and investigations into client profiles to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Prepare detailed case files for further review by supervisors, ensuring all documentation meets internal quality benchmarks.
* Stay up-to-date with evolving regulations related to KYC, Suitability, and Documentation requirements, applying this knowledge to daily tasks.
* Escalate any identified risks during documentation reviews promptly and appropriately to maintain robust risk controls.
* Collaborate closely with client-facing teams to gather required documents and information in line with regulatory and internal policies.
* Engage proactively in ongoing process improvement initiatives, contributing ideas for innovation within operational workflows.
* Act as a subject matter expert on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and KYC documentation processes, providing guidance to colleagues as needed.
* Manage and facilitate comprehensive client due diligence activities throughout the client lifecycle.
* Serve as a key point of contact for KYC queries or designated clients, ensuring responsive communication and support.
* Discuss complex compliance issues with relevant stakeholders, escalating matters related to client types, financial products, or AML risks when necessary.
What you bring:
To excel as an Operations Analyst in this role, you will bring proven experience from previous positions involving AML or KYC case management-ideally gained within financial services or another highly regulated sector. Your ability to maintain rigorous attention to detail ensures that all documentation is accurate and compliant with current regulations. Strong communication skills are vital; you must be able to convey complex information clearly while building trust-based relationships internally and externally. Analytical thinking enables you to assess risk factors effectively while your organisational strengths help you manage multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising quality. A collaborative spirit is essential as you will frequently share insights with colleagues and contribute constructively during team discussions. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications-particularly Excel-will support your ability to analyse data efficiently. Above all, your dedication to upholding high standards of compliance will underpin your success in this position.
* Demonstrated experience in case management roles focused on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Know Your Customer (KYC) processes within financial services or similar regulated environments.
* Exceptional attention to detail combined with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards across all aspects of documentation review.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities that enable you to influence both internal colleagues and external stakeholders effectively.
* Well-developed analytical skills paired with strong organisational capabilities that allow you to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
* A keen awareness of risk management principles and internal control frameworks relevant to compliance operations.
* Ability to think laterally about complex problems while maintaining an understanding of broader business objectives.
* Proven capacity for multi-tasking in fast-moving environments where deadlines are fixed and accuracy is paramount.
* A collaborative approach that encourages sharing information, ideas, and suggestions within the team setting.
