University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is comprised of three hospitals: the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital, and Christchurch Hospital, which merged on 1 October 2020, creating a new organisation. The Trust provides significant opportunities and benefits in Dorset for patient care delivery, aiming for better outcomes, improved quality, and more efficient service delivery.
Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD:
* We are caring
* We are one team
* We are listening to understand
* We are open and honest
* We are always improving
* We are inclusive
These values underpin everything the Trust does now and in the future, guiding how we treat patients, visitors, and each other, including our valued team members and colleagues.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Services, the post holder will directly line-manage the income portfolio, working closely with Associate Directors of Finance, Finance Business Partners, the Head of Contracting and Commissioning, and the Contract Teams to maximise income flows to the Trust.
The role involves providing specialist financial advice, training, and support to ensure services are appropriately funded, and the Trust can accurately forecast and plan income. The Finance Business Partner will also provide management support to the Head of Financial Services, deputising as needed.
The successful candidate will use high-level technical, analytical, interpersonal, and negotiating skills to develop strong relationships across the NHS and wider system, working autonomously as an expert practitioner with minimal supervision and making operational decisions independently.
Applicants must be CCAB qualified accountants, with NHS experience highly desirable. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply, as diversity strengthens our teams.

* 27-33 days holiday (excluding bank holidays, based on NHS service length)
* Hybrid and flexible working options
* Generous relocation package
* Standard NHS pension and other benefits
As UHD continues to invest in services and develop following the merger and the New Hospital Programme, some services may move sites temporarily or long-term. Managers will be available at interview to answer questions regarding these changes.
Please note, if the role involves relocation, employees will not be reimbursed for excess mileage. Travel from home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute, with other changes managed according to Trust or national terms and conditions.
