At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialize in animal, environmental, agricultural, and horticultural courses for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
About the Role:
The FE Student Development Coach will promote student engagement and personal growth at Writtle Colleges' Further Education provision. Responsibilities include delivering group tutorials, coordinating extracurricular activities aligned with Ofsted and college standards, and preparing learners for life beyond education. The role involves conducting workshops, providing one-on-one support, fostering understanding of personal development, diversity, and wellbeing, supporting learners during induction and throughout their academic journey, tracking student progress, maintaining records, and contributing to safeguarding and inclusive practices.
We seek a proactive, empathetic, and organized individual passionate about supporting young people's personal and educational development. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience delivering sessions to diverse groups, excellent time management, IT proficiency (especially in Microsoft Office), and the ability to work independently and in a team. Knowledge of specific learning difficulties, mental health challenges, safeguarding principles, and familiarity with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework will be advantageous. A commitment to equality, diversity, and professional development is essential.
Qualifications required include two A levels or a vocational qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
