Dougie Mac is recruiting Registered Nurses for our developing Young Adult Service. This role supports young adults with palliative or complex health conditions and provides holistic, person‑centred care.
Responsibilities
* Work as an integral part of the Young Adult Team by assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for service users.
* Lead and coordinate shifts and clinical interventions.
* Act as a mentor and role model to Care Support Workers, and supervise student nurses and nursing associates.
* Serve as Keyworker for a small caseload of young adults.
* Support young adults in daily living activities, as well as social and leisure opportunities.
* Ensure that all documentation is complete and up to date in accordance with policy.
* Liaise with healthcare and social care professionals across organisations to provide an integrated package of care and support.
* Provide information to service users and their families as conditions progress, enabling informed decision‑making.
Qualifications
* Registered Adult Nurse (RN), Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with post‑qualifying experience.
* Valid Full Driving Licence.
* Completion of PARE Supervisor Preparation and Guidance.
Experience
* Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Experience working with service users who have additional communication needs, learning disabilities and/or physical health needs.
* Transferable nursing knowledge and skills that can be adapted to caring for young adults living with life‑limiting conditions or complex health needs.
* Experience coordinating shifts and delegating tasks.
* Experience in multi‑agency work with health colleagues, social care, and the voluntary sector.
* Experience caring for adults or children with complex health needs or palliative healthcare needs.
* Experience supervising and mentoring others.

* Knowledge of legislation including Safeguarding Adults and the Mental Capacity Act.

* Knowledge and understanding of palliative care, loss, and bereavement.
* Vision for contributing to service development.
* Desirable: valid driving licence due to the community aspect of this role.
