The restaurant is a snug, contemporary space with 35 covers per service (lunch and dinner, Wednesday - Sunday only) where guests enjoy thoughtfully prepared meals using fresh and local produce and a wide range of drinks including beers from local breweries. Behind the pub, there is a beautifully decorated courtyard with an Honesty Café tucked in the corner, serving coffee, tea, cakes, lunch and bread from Wednesday to Sunday. Meals can be ordered from either the pub or café and enjoyed in the courtyard. We are seeking a part-time Kitchen Porter to join the friendly and hard-working team at The Hartley Arms. This is a busy role in a vibrant restaurant kitchen, where you’ll work alongside our chefs to keep service running smoothly. Hours and Shifts: 20 hours per week Thursday, Friday and Saturday Shifts What you’ll be doing: Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment Washing pots, pans, crockery, and utensils quickly and efficiently Assisting chefs with basic food preparation, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients Unloading and storing deliveries Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods We’re looking for someone who: Can work calmly and efficiently in a busy restaurant kitchen Has previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential if you’re willing to learn) Is happy to work daytimes, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis Brings a positive, team-player attitude and a smile to every shift In return, we offer: A share of tips Training and development opportunities Uniform provided Staff discounts on food and drink Free on-site parking If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, learn new skills, and be part of a welcoming team, we’d love to hear from you!
