Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, managing staff, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hotel operations and hospitality, coupled with extensive janitorial experience.
Duties
* Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations to ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
* Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Develop and implement housekeeping policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
* Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
* Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
* Collaborate with other departments to address guest needs and resolve any issues promptly.
* Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, including staff performance and inventory usage.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the housekeeping department.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is essential.
* Proven experience in janitorial services or similar roles is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
* Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
