1. Position: Control Room Commander
2. Rate of pay: £17.56 p/h.
Hours: 12hr shifts (07.00 - 19.00 and 19.00 - 07.00).
Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days, nights weekends & bank holidays).
Location - Canary Wharf, London.
Join our onsite security team in Canary Wharf, working within a cutting-edge Regional Security Control Centre (RRCC). As a Control Room Commander, you will be responsible for CCTV surveillance, security monitoring, incident and management emergency management and escalation. You will play a crucial role in protecting the client's estate, assets, personnel, and events ensuring compliance with security industry standards and supporting the on-site security teams through effective collaboration and communication.
3. The CRC will play a vital role to the security and protection of the client estate as well as it's people, you will play an integral part of the intelligence cycle and information sharing across a UK wide estate and a global travel and risk management team. The RSCR team will be a 1st point of contact for security escalations and will liaise with a valued watckeeper service that actively engages in threat monitoring, real time alerting and intelligence reporting.
Main duties
4. CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance: Operate and monitor state-of-the-art CCTV systems, ensuring continuous surveillance of key areas with new technology implemented to enhance monitoring.
5. Threat Detection & Analysis: Identify suspicious activities, assess security risks and event management through analytics, provide first response and escalate incidents as necessary.
6. Incident Management & Response: Coordinate responses to security breaches, unauthorised access, and emergency situations, ensuring prompt and effective action is taken as per SOPs
7. Communication & Coordination: Act as a central point of contact for security officers, workplace teams, and travel risk teams through the intelligence hub.
8. Access Control & Alarm Systems: Handle the companies access control system to include the management of access group within the system and provision of recertification data on request. Monitor Regional Alarms ensuring a proficient response compliant with current security protocols.
9. Disruptive Effects Framework: Support the implementation of security strategies designed to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
10. Emergency Procedures: Assist in crisis situations, coordinating responses with relevant teams and emergency services to aid the control room commander in decision making.
11. Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in the security management system, log incidents, and adhere to AI's and SOP's include monthly confirmation testing. Provide evidence for audit purposes on request.
Person Specification
12. Excelled interpersonal skills; be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
13. Ability to communicate confidently at all levels including stakeholder engagement.
14. Ability to manage own workload to meet team deadlines.
15. SIA CCTV License (mandatory for CCTV monitoring roles).
16. Previous experience in a control room environment, demonstrating the ability to maintain composure and a calm demeanour in a pressurised setting.
17. Aptitude to work on a variety of security systems unique to the contract (full training will be given)
18. Ability to analyse security data and make informed decisions.
19. Knowledge of travel risk management and the ability to review multiple data sources to formulate a cohesive report to EY Staff.
20. A good all-round understanding of site security procedures and SOP's acting as a focal point of contact for staff members of all levels within the business.
21. Understanding of the Disruptive Effects Framework and its application in security.
22. First Aid & Emergency Response Training (preferred).
23. A willingness to learn and develop and show high level of commitment and professionalism.
24. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Teams and Sharepoint and ability to stay current with system information, changes and updates.
