We have two highly regarded brands; SiS which combines world-class knowledge and scientific formulations to provide optimal performance solutions for endurance athletes, supplying over 320 professional teams worldwide. Brand ambassadors include former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy.
PhD Nutrition is a premium active-nutrition brand targeting the active lifestyle community; fuelled by science our products help maximise performance, whether this is building strength, getting leaner, or everyday wellness. PhD brand ambassadors include leading strength and endurance athlete Ross Edgley.
The two brands sell through the Company's phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online sites, including Amazon, and extensive retail distribution in the UK and internationally.
In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time. And this allows Science in Sport to have the highest standards of quality.
Science in Sport is Performance Solutions partner to Ineos Grenadiers cycling team, Tottenham Hotspur, New York City and OGC Nice football clubs, in addition to being the Official Nutrition Partner to the Milwaukee Bucks, 2021 National Basketball Association Champions and in 2023, winner of the women’s marathon at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Gotytom Gebreslase
The Role
Purpose of the role is to ensure the company’s policies, practices and plans are legal and ethical with selling inside and outside of the UK & EU, supporting all exports, labelling requirements, artworks, regulations. You will work closely with Manufacturing, NPD, Supply Chain, Quality and Technical teams.

* Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

The Work - Your 4 most important responsibilities
* Support the business in ensuring raw material and finished products are safe and compliant
* Create and maintain accurate regulatory documentation, such as, accurate regulatory documentation - product specifications, risk assessments, labelling, and certificates of conformance/analysis
* Co-ordinate and complete relevant logistics compliance/market access paperwork, such as applying for Export Health Certificates, Certificate of Free Sale, Certificate of Origin, EUR1, composite private attestations and product notification paperwork
* Provide advice and support to the business for any relevant regulatory or compliance matters
Accountability – what you are responsible for delivering
* Support the business to ensure the product portfolio maintains a high level of accuracy and compliance, to minimise risks
* Assist in mapping market entry requirements for new and existing territories, as aligned to business priorities
* Actively support the business with regards to logistics compliance, by competently co-ordinating and completing relevant export documentation
* Provide critical business support with nutritional, regulatory and compliance queries from key stakeholders
* Support Supplier Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Technical and Quality teams with raw material approvals and advising on relevant assurances and documentation to ensure the business maintains a high-quality and compliant Supply Chain

* Interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and build relationships internally and externally
* Attention to detail to interpret and relay complex legislative information to the wider business
* Time management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines
* Knowledge and implementation of food industry standards and legislation pertaining to food, food supplements and fortified foods within the UK, EU and, desirably, wider territories
* Knowledge of regulations pertaining to wider territories, i.e. USA, Canada, Australia, China and Middle East
Performance – how you will know you are doing a great job
* Overall risk to business minimised due to less non-compliances in relevant territories
* Improved understanding of compliance and market access requirements for priority territories by the wider business
* New and existing product development completed within designated timelines
Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a personal performance plan that will enable you to continue improving your own performance and impact.
Attributes – experience and mindset that will enable you to do well in this role
* Qualification in Nutrition, Food Technology, Food Law, Food Science, Food Safety, or other related subject
* 1-2 years minimum experience in UK and EU food regulations
* Sports nutrition, food supplements and fortified foods
* Logistics compliance and export/import processes and required documentation
