Training Lead – HMP Fosse Way, LE18 4WS

Salary: £35,795.55 per annum
Employment type: Permanent (Full‑Time, 40 hours per week)
Responsibilities
* Facilitate the effective delivery of all training within the contract including Initial Training Courses (ITCs) for Prisoner Custody Officers and Operational Support Officers, and Induction Programmes for non‑operational staff and external agencies.
* Ensure all training modules and materials meet the standards required by Serco and HMPS policy.
* Co‑ordinate the delivery of all on‑site training, ensuring Training Officers are efficiently scheduled and training venues are appropriate.
* Maintain accurate and auditable training records in line with national requirements.
* Provide statistical information to HMP Fosse Way’s Training Committee through a monthly report and attend bi‑monthly Training Committee meetings.
* Manage all databases containing information tracking training, development and recruitment activity.
* Work with the Finance Business Partner to monitor costs of training activity and exploit opportunities for efficiencies.
* Liaise with external training providers as required and monitor eLearning requirements via the Serco LMS platform.
* Deliver training programmes as appropriate and required, including the management of nationally accredited qualifications.
* Ensure staff reporting to the training Manager are subject to Serco performance management through the My Catch Up process.
* Participate in functional meetings where training delivery is discussed and maintain operational CPD by regularly taking part in operational duties, as directed by your line manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Level 5 qualification in Learning & Development, or prepared to complete a Level 5 Learning & Development Apprenticeship programme.
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) qualification, or complete within 6 months of starting in the role.
* Complete Prisoner Custody Officer (PCO) Initial Training if not already qualified, and the PCO Portfolio in the probationary period.
* Complete the Custodial Operations Manager portfolio within 12 months of taking up post.
* Proficient in the use of IT platforms to manage and manipulate data for presenting management information.
* Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
* Good interpersonal skills and a team‑working ethic.
