Job Summary
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Porter to support patient experience and patient flow by undertaking all portering related duties. This includes primarily the transportation of patients to and from wards and departments, the movement of goods.

Main Responsibilities
•Safely transport patients, equipment, and personal belongings across hospital wards and departments using appropriate mobility aids (beds, trolleys, wheelchairs).
•Move medical supplies, specimens, bloods, furniture, post, and other items efficiently between departments and external locations as required.
•Support sensitive services including transferring deceased patients to the mortuary and assisting with mortuary viewings when needed.
•Communicate effectively using devices (e.g. radios/iPods), respond to queries professionally, manage post room operations, and promptly report any health & safety issues.
Essential Skills
•Ability to follow instructions (verbal and written)
•Ability to work within agreed procedures and deadlines and to use initiative appropriately to deal with unexpected situation
•Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
Desirable Skills
•Knowledge of portering services and how these impacts on patient care and services delivered within the hospital
•Entry Level 2 or above in Numeracy, or willing to undertake training to achieve
•Health & Safety Training
•Customer Service Training
