At AXA UK Finance CoE, our goal is to deliver advanced modelling and reporting solutions on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform. To achieve this, we have launched the Finance Data and Analytics Team, aiming to move beyond traditional reporting methods towards modern, innovative technology. We're seeking a Data Engineering Manager to help build and optimise the data framework for AXA Finance CoE, building on our progress over the past two years and further accelerating our journey.

We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:

• Be responsible for the day-to-day work of data engineers, ensuring that Finance CoE data assets are curated in a standardised format and to a high-level of quality, meeting all data management and quality frameworks and policies.
• Build cross-functional relationships with other Data and Analytics teams such as Data Science and Insights to best understand their data needs and those of the wider business, enabling Data Engineering to deliver on those needs.
• Work with Product Owners to understand data requirements for building products.
• Oversee the migration of Finance CoE data assets to the Azure Data Lake.
• Drive the creation of reusable and strategic data pipelines to facilitate efficient access and utilisation of Finance CoE data assets by the broader delivery teams.

• Collaborate with peers across business to deliver inputs to the overarching data strategy and communicate the same through various medium.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience leading and managing teams responsible for building, optimising, and maintaining data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake and the broader data ecosystem.
• Demonstrated expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, with the ability to guide team efforts in data management.
• Extensive practical knowledge of Spark, Databricks, and other Big Data technologies, with the ability to mentor team members and foster best practices.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, PySpark, Scala, or similar, with experience in guiding technical teams on complex development tasks.
• Adaptable approach to changing business and technical requirements, supporting team agility and responsiveness.
