As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analysing data, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest quality standards, lead supplier qualifications, and resolve non-conformance issues – all while developing strong working relationships with global suppliers to support business continuity and product excellence.
How You'll Make an Impact
1. Lead product and process qualification (PPQ) activities at supplier sites
2. Manage and resolve quality issues related to non-conforming supplier components identified at Siemens Energy Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) facilities, warehouses, or customer locations
3. Oversee root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving techniques
4. Audit existing and potential suppliers to assess manufacturing capability and ensure robust quality systems are in place
5. Drive supplier development to meet current and future product quality and manufacturing requirements
6. Investigate and address manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to maintain delivery performance and mitigate risks
7. Collaborate with customer-facing teams to resolve potential non-conformance issues
8. Identify and support cost reduction opportunities in partnership with the Strategic Business and Supply Chain teams
9. Contribute to product manufacturing improvement through regular on-site presence at supplier locations
What You Bring
10. Technical training or higher education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
11. Experience working with or within manufacturing facilities and on critical components ( discs, shafts, complex assemblies)
12. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality management systems ( ISO9001), and inspection methodologies
13. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
14. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering teams to ensure component manufacturability
15. Proven ability to manage multiple complex investigations and supplier quality issues from start to finish
16. Self-motivated, organised, and confident taking ownership of tasks and driving them forward
17. Experience with root cause analysis tools and quality improvement methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa
18. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial
19. Experience assessing inspection capability and working with quality control tools and systems
20. Ability to manage product and process qualification projects independently
