What you'll do at work
The Electronics Production Engineer is responsible for initiatives to achieve continuous improvement and maintenance of West’s current test fixtures and jigs. This is a team-based position working within the Production Engineering team.
You will learn to:
* Design, develop, maintain and upgrade test fixtures and jigs.
* Test and troubleshoot of electrical/electronic control systems, producing detailed design.
* Some software development.
* Creation and control of production drawings and work instructions.
* Hardware and software revisions.
* Develop databases.
* Define and implement work Instructions and processes.
This role will develop over the apprenticeship as you learn to maintain current software up to date to upgrade legacy testers using electrical schematics and Control Philosophy/FDS. A Functional Design Specification (FDS) is a document that describes how a process or a control system will operate.
