We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a busy production team. This role involves setting, operating, and programming CNC lathes (Fanuc controls), ensuring parts are produced to high quality standards and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls
Read and understand CNC programmes, making edits where required
Set up new jobs using setup sheets and tooling lists
Preset tooling and load programmes correctly
Create or edit programmes (on-machine or offline using CAM software)
Inspect parts to ensure they meet drawings and customer specifications
Complete all required production paperwork accurately
Ensure correct drawings, programmes, and quantities are used
Report any quality issues and follow non-conformance procedures
Work closely with the team to maintain production flow and output
Run multiple machines where possible to maximise efficiency
Keep work area clean and organised
Support shift handovers with clear updates
Use the MRP system to track work in progress
Flag any issues with tooling, machines, or job timings to supervisorsExperience Required
Experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Experience setting tools and working from setup sheets
Familiar with measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers)
Background in precision engineering or manufacturing
Experience working in a team-based production environmentDesirable
Apprenticeship or formal training in machining or engineering
Experience using CAM software (e.g. Edgecam)
Exposure to MRP systemsWorking Hours & Pay
39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm
