Job role
A part of a multidisciplinary team dealing with environmental and pollution issues throughout the city.
Responsibilities
* Assess the potential environmental impacts of planning and premises licence applications.
* Investigate complaints of statutory nuisance arising on commercial premises, such as noise, odour, and bonfirestaking enforcement action where necessary.
* Process applications for and issue environmental permits and undertake inspections of permitted processes.
* Assist with the air quality monitoring programme and other environmental monitoring.
* Respond to requests for environmental information.
This role is a career progression post from a Grade 7 to a Grade 8 Principal position. You must demonstrate that you meet the criteria listed on page 10 of the G7 job description attached.
Qualifications
* Degree or diploma in environmental health required.
* Applicants holding the Postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control or the IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement are welcome.
* Excellent communicator with appropriate technical knowledge, preferably with statutory or environmental enforcement experience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a One Coventry ethos.
* Right to work in the UK; sponsorship not offered at this time.
