As a certified Datix professional, you will be responsible for all aspects of management of the Datix risk management system, Datix and patient safety training of staff at all levels and provision of Executive level reporting. This is a high profile role, requiring excellent communication and people skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with Senior Management Teams to develop and manage the Datix Risk Management software to support the Trust’s commitment to patient safety and improvement.
The post holder will be the subject matter expert and ‘System Manager’ for Datix, its implementation and use throughout the Trust to ensure the system is utilised to its full potential through training and support of staff and managers.
The post holder will undertake detailed analysis of incident data using SPC run charts to enable reporting to the Safety Committee, Integrated Governance Committee, and Trust Board ensuring that the Trust is meeting its Key Performance Indicators, Annual Plan objectives and safety priorities under the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.
The post holder will provide and demonstrate specialist knowledge, expertise and advice to support the needs of the Organisation in relation to incident reporting and trend analysis.
The post holder will be able to use their own initiative to develop and innovate but also be able to demonstrate that they are able to work as part of a team in addition to supporting Operational colleagues in the use of Datix.
The post holder will be responsible for overall management of the Datix system, demonstrating an in depth knowledge and an ability to problem solve. This will also include the producing of reports to support the needs of the Organisation and development and delivery of specialist advice, support and training for staff.

Person specification
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING
* In depth specialist knowledge of statistics/information analysis and the use of information across the NHS acquired through degree or equivalent experience or training
* Specialist knowledge and relevant experience of the Datix Integrated Risk Management Software System
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
* Knowledge or experience of working within the NHS
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications with proven expertise in Excel
* Relevant experience of the Datix Risk Management System
* Line management experience - post holder will manage the Safer Care Team Administrator
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
* Provide and receive complex information; motivational and training skills required
* Present complex information to large groups at all levels of the organisation, and to tailor content according to audience
* Motivate and influence staff in the importance of incident reporting via Datix and its correlation with patient safety
* Deliver regular training sessions to a variety of staff at all levels of the organisation
* Understand the security protocols of the system and be responsible for security of the system, information governance compliance escalating potential risk issues as required
ANALYTICAL SKILLS
* Ability to analyse, investigate and resolve complex system queries and issues/problems where there are a range of solutions.
* Ability to diagnose or inform diagnosis of system issues and present solutions to enable resolution and business continuity
