Role Overview
The Oliver McGowan Facilitating Trainer is responsible for delivering learning disability and autism training (Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training) to employees of Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust across Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent, Shropshire, and the wider geographical footprint. They may also need to deliver this training to other organisations outside of the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for the delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training programme (Tier 1 and Tier 2).
Become an accredited Oliver McGowan Mandatory trainer by successfully attending the "Train the Trainer" training.
Plan and coordinate the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training schedule to ensure compliance with national targets, in collaboration with the Workforce and Learning Team. This includes arranging training venues across various Trust sites, procuring experts with lived experience/co‑trainers, and managing planned absences such as annual leave.
Flex the training sessions as needed to meet audience requirements. Possess a significant level of knowledge about Learning Disability and Autism to confidently respond to audience questions and demonstrate credibility.
Qualifications
In‑depth knowledge and understanding of Learning Disability and Autism is essential to deliver both Tier 1 and Tier 2 training packages.
Have the requisite teaching skills to deliver the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training programme.
Significant experience working with people with Learning Disability and Autistic people, and be able to offer pastoral and direct support during training programmes, particularly at times of stress, anxiety, meltdowns or shutdowns.
