Overview
Our work is all about securing the land rights required to develop the proposed 400kV overhead lines, underground cables, and substations that will keep the country powered with clean, sustainable energy. It’s a crucial role that blends the expertise of a land agent with the complexities of large-scale utilities projects. A typical day might involve coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders across a project-based landscape.
Responsibilities
* Liaising with landowners and occupiers over proposed route and site selection.
* Assessing the impact of infrastructure on land and businesses.
* Negotiating wayleaves or servitudes and ensuring best practice in land management.
* Valuation and compensation assessment to ensure agreements are fair and balanced for all parties involved.
What you’ll need
* Experience in land management, with knowledge of landownership systems in Scotland. Ideally some experience in energy networks or other relevant utility or land management practices.
* Practical knowledge of land management and agricultural matters, with experience dealing with land and property rights, wayleaves, servitudes, land acquisition, and compensation.
* Strong organisation, proactivity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent stakeholder management and clear, practical problem-solving communications.
