Position Summary
Reporting to the Principal Structural Engineer or Lead appointed as applicable, the Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for carrying out Structural Engineering for Oceaneering. This role plays an essential part of the success of the business by ensuring that the company continues to drive innovation and deliver commercially viable products, to achieve the Companies objectives of growth and profitability.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Assist with resolving technical queries and ensure satisfactory (design changes captured by change control)
2. Producing calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews
3. Experienced in Approval, Checking and Preparation of design/engineering documentation
4. Produce documentation deliverables for inclusion in workpack, and or, design books, on time to meet deadlines
5. Preparation of engineering, construction and equipment scopes
6. Conduct site Surveys both on an offshore
7. Responsible for a number of other engineering personnel to ensure work scope delivery and ensure the technical quality of work discipline team assigned to the scope of work
8. Responsible for delivery as part of the team for achieving the target and completion of engineering documentation within the budget and schedule; ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with priorities and schedules as set out in the plan
9. Preparation of engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates.
10. Identification of increase or reduction in scope and assist in raising the necessary support documents
11. Management of 3rd Party Suppliers in the execution of Engineering Delivery
12. Where required act as focal Point for assigned projects and jobs, managing the contact with the client
13. Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering
14. Support preparation of pre-qualification responses, proposals, tenders and programmes for work for new and existing customers.
15. Participate in incident investigations as required
16. Manage any direct reports performance
17. Comply with relevant codes of conduct
18. Ensure that all work complies with the Company and Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
19. Report any incidents/near misses, hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, or positive behaviour to a responsible person immediately, and participate in incident investigations where required
20. Actively participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HSE audits, and other relevant meetings where required
21. Perform work responsibly, taking account of environmental, social and economic requirements
Qualifications
22. Holds an engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline and is a Chartered Engineer with sufficient post-graduate experience.
23. Prefer HND in a relevant engineering discipline with sufficientexperience
24. Competent in specifying modifications to existing Structures/equipment or designing new structure/equipment including but not limited to: Fabrication and constructability techniques; Lifting aid design, installation techniques and LOLER lift plans; Application of structural analysis packages; Survey Techniques; Other associated modifications within the Oil and Gas industry
25. Conversant and Knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards.
26. Adhere to and Comply with company engineering procedures, industry, international and where appliable client codes and standards

30. Proficient in various applicable design software systems and Microsoft packages

35. Able to travel in UK and abroad, as well as offshore
