DTS Operations Manager

£56,481 per annum (pay award pending) - Grade 10

Leeds / Hybrid

Full time / Permanent - 37 hours per week

We currently have a vacancy for a DTS Operations Manager to join our Digital & Technology Services team.

Joining the Digital and Technology ‘Live Services’ team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, efficiency, and security of our live systems and services across the business. We are looking for a DTS Operations Manager with strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people management, to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will work closely with the Cyber Security Manager, allocating System Engineer resources and assist where possible to ensure our teams work collaboratively to address issues. As DTS Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting digital transformation, managing vendors, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. If you are a proactive manager with a passion for technology and a strong track record in managing secure, complex IT environments, we want to hear from you. Due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will be subject to relevant vetting checks at the appropriate level and any job offer will be conditional subject to successful vetting clearance.

The Role

Reporting into the Live Services Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Oversee and manage a team of System Engineers, Software Support Engineers, and Software Support Analysts to provide high quality service while adhering to strict Service Level Agreements.

• Responsible for the day-to-day engineering management of the network, hardware and cloud services.

• Develop and enforce operating policies, processes, and procedures for the team, ensuring compliance with the strict guidelines outlined in the ITIL framework.

About You

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

• Maintain the Live Services environment in Microsoft 365, Azure and on-premises systems, as well as Live Services in other environments and Combined Authority’s remote sites.

• Thorough understanding of IT implementation methodologies to effectively manage and optimise the use of the Azure stack and associated technologies (networks, storage, security, backup).

• Proven understanding of ICT specific methodologies such as ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM).

• Lead and inspire the team by actively listening, communicating effectively, and providing coaching and mentorship.

• Continuously measure, monitor, and report progress in relation to business metrics and tasks outlined in the business plan.
