Our confidential helpline is looking for a helpline operator. If you understand the importance of listening, and can empathise, this role may be for you. You will join our friendly Helpline team, providing emotional support, and information about epilepsy, via telephone, email, and webchat. The helpline provides a confidential service giving up-to-date information and offering emotional support, using counselling skills, to anyone affected by epilepsy. You could be speaking to a health professional, someone with the condition themselves, or close family members. Challenging, but rewarding this role will develop your understanding of epilepsy and give you a whole new set of skills for professional and self-development. Once trained you will need to be available to work for four, four-hour shifts per week, Monday to Saturday: either 8.45am to 12.45pm, 12.15pm to 4.15pm or 3.45pm to 7.45pm. Some flexibility is required with shift patterns. We operate hybrid working arrangements, some shifts must be taken in the office based in Chalfont St Peter and some from home. Equipment will be provided, but a confidential home workspace is essential. Extensive training will be given, including a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling, along with support before you take calls independently.
