Main purpose of the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join our Yorkshire East region, based from our regional office near Doncaster.
The main purpose of the role is to control and co-ordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments. To ensure all approvals are obtained and information received issued to allow for a programmed start on site. Support all aspects of a site’s lifecycle throughout the sites development from initial start up to completion and handover to the relevant authorities for adoptions. Provide live site support with attendance of development team meetings in conjunction with the other teams to facilitate and support the site-specific Exit Plan process to complete the final build stages and achieve adoption and handover of Roads, Sewers, POS etc.
The key accountabilities;
Technical
1. Work with Land Department to ensure smooth transition of information
2. Prepare site viability reports in line with current regulatory requirements for residential development
3. Check all drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability
4. Review technical designs and submissions for roads and sewers to ensure suitability for future adoption
5. Liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met.
6. Apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Design and Ground Investigation
7. Attend site visits and meetings to solve issues that arise during the constructions process
8. Attend design meetings with the highways and planners to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments
9. Work on tenders and pre-start engineering documentation and oversee viability of each one
10. Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required
11. Take an active role in supporting the road & sewer adoption process of closed and live sites
Technical Design
12. Assist the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all engineering design and technical report requirements
13. Provide technical and administrative support to the site teams
14. Obtain all required technical approvals in line with programmed site start dates
Product Development
15. Be aware of the need for innovation in all aspects of our business

17. Create a good rapport with our partner consultants, contractors and adopting authorities to ensure the Company receives total commitment
18. Develop a close working relationship with the Regional team, ensuring all information is communicated effectively and efficiently
19. Support others working within the engineering section and provide support and coaching where required

Skills, knowledge & experience
We are looking for an established Engineer with a housebuilding background who embodies our Keepmoat values; passionate about the housebuilding industry, they will work in a straightforward way, possessing strong organisational skills with a good commercial and contractual awareness.They will be creative with a keen eye for detail and ability to process technical information. They will be collaborative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong negotiator with proven experience in gaining consent on complex technical approvals.
The successful candidate will have previous exposure to a similar role within a UK housebuilder and be comfortable using engineering related software (AutoCAD).
