Overview
Wakefield Council is seeking dedicated individuals who are eager to embark on a career in leisure. This ‘Qualified’ lifeguard position is open to anyone who possesses a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). The position is a 37‑hour permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure safety in and around the pool.
* Educate swimmers on water safety.
* Provide first aid and perform rescues during emergencies.
* Set up equipment or assist at reception in facilities with dry‑side areas.
* Adhere to relevant legislation regarding Health & Safety, Hygiene, First Aid, and Fire Evacuation protocols.
* Report any potential accidents, hazards, or near‑miss incidents to management.
* Supervise the pool and ensure the poolside, changing rooms, and leisure areas are kept clean and organised.
* Work shifts that include early‑morning starts, evenings and a ‘one in three’ weekend rotation.
Requirements
* In‑date CIMPSA endorsed pool lifeguard qualification (mandatory).
* Valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
