We are seeking a candidate who balances technical proficiency with the ability to manage client relationships and mentor junior staff.
* Professional Status: MRICS Chartered status is preferred; we also welcome applications from intermediate surveyors who are solid in their experience and nearing their APC.
* Education: BSc in Building Surveying or an RICS-accredited construction-related degree.
* Experience: Proven experience in Traditional Building Surveying, building surveys, and contract administration across residential and commercial sectors.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant industry software.
* Professionalism: Strong stakeholder management skills with a history of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Mobility: A valid, clean UK driving licence. Regional travel is required for this vacancy.
* Right to Work: Candidates must possess a current, valid right to live and work in the UK. (Sponsorship is not available for this role).
Role Responsibilities
You will report to the Associate Director of the Bristol office, managing projects from inception to completion across public and private sectors (Education, Defence, Conservation, and Residential/Commercial).
* Core Duties: Performing traditional design and build work, refurbishments, contract administration, and detailed building surveys.
* Client Engagement: Promoting the firm and developing long-term client relationships to secure repeat business.
* Commercial: Preparation of tender packages.
* Leadership: Mentoring less senior members of the Building Surveying team.
Salary and Benefits
* Basic Salary: 35,000 – 45,000 GBP per annum.
