About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our specialist education team supporting children and young people with autism and additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to helping students access learning in a meaningful and empowering way.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers, tutors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, person-centred support — ensuring every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Support teachers to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons and provide 1:1 and small-group support
2. Help create stimulating, structured learning environments tailored to students with autism
3. Contribute to planning and reviewing key student documents (e.g. IEPs, behaviour plans, risk assessments)
4. Promote students’ academic, social and emotional development, encouraging independence and self-regulation
5. Support morning routines, personal care (where needed) and overall student wellbeing
6. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, care staff and families to ensure consistent support
7. Maintain accurate records and follow all safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety procedures
8. Participate in training, meetings and school development activities to support continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
9. Experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential)
10. A genuine passion for supporting students with autism and additional needs
11. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff
12. Emotional resilience and confidence in managing challenging behaviour
13. Strong communication and organisational skills
14. A team player who is proactive, reliable, and reflective (essential)
