Music Development Specialist - Ref: EE10825 Lead Practitioner 1-5: £52,026 - £57,418 per annum. Walsall Music Education Service is seeking a full-time Music Education Specialist in Development to join their vibrant management team. The role reports into the Music Education Manager and will focus on a variety of development areas: - development of education opportunities in peripatetic music provision - development of business engagement with Walsall schools - development of training for both curriculum staff and the Music Service workforce. Walsall Music Education Service is part of The Black Country Music Hub which compromises music service provision from Walsall, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley. Hours are standard in the main (i.e. normal office hours) and are flexed to accommodate weekly evening Music Centre management, concerts and other activities during the year. Our work is hybrid, generally comprising 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office/school/music centre, but this depends on timetable. Walsall Music Education Service is part of Walsall Council and is based at Walsall Arena & Arts Centre in Leamore, Walsall. School work can be in any of the 115 schools in the Walsall borough and concert locations are generally Walsall based but can be anywhere in the Black Country or Staffordshire. A driving licence is not essential but ability to travel between sites is required. Public transport is not always an option depending on times needed (for example evening performances) and should be thought about before applying. Initial interviews will take place in mid-January (likely 19 th January). Successful candidates will then be observed teaching in late January/early February with a second panel interview on either 11 th or 25 th February.
