Job Description
Purpose
Describe the primary goals, objectives, functions, or outputs of this position.
The role involves championing the payer perspective, sharing payer insights, anticipating payer changes, identifying unmet needs, and proposing access strategies for the country's top influential payers. The goal is to optimize brand value across relevant affiliate brands, placing the patient at the center of efforts, while operating within AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
1. Articulate predicted payer and payer influencer decision drivers and unmet needs to the brand teams to ensure a holistic situation analysis.
2. Highlight the cross-functional impacts of anticipated changes in the payer environment to enrich the Brand Team’s anticipation of the future.
3. Recommend appropriate “beyond the pill” solutions and enhance proposals from other team members to ensure an optimal level of investment.
4. Identify opportunities and collaborate cross-functionally to engage in “win: win” partnerships with stakeholders to positively influence product access.
5. Analyze, customize, and transform economic and clinical data into simple, compelling messages for payers, regulators, providers, and budget holders to facilitate access and reimbursement.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
2. Relevant experience with a proven track record of success in the pharmaceutical industry within commercial and medical functions and/or within healthcare payer/provider or academic institutions.
3. Ability to manage cross-functional projects.
4. Ability to analyze complex models and scientific data and extract key messages.
5. Ability to interpret scientific and/or pharmaco-economic data relevant for targeted value messaging.
6. Develop, lead, and coach team members and direct reports (if applicable).
7. Solid working knowledge of pharmaco-economic principles.
8. Solid knowledge of payer mindset and motivation in the local context.
9. Preferred: Proven success in market access within the local context and 1-2 years of international market access experience.

External: P&R institutions, MOH, regional healthcare providers, HTAs.
Internal: Brand Team, Marketing, SHI, HEOR.
