Head of Maths – Middle Leader at TES FE News. Location: Lamledge School, Shifnal, Shropshire. Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday. Contract: Permanent, Term Time only. UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
At Outcomes First Group, we’re introducing a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving full-time pay. This position may operate within that framework where applicable.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead the Maths Department to deliver high academic expectations and a varied co-curricular programme.
* Oversee the successful delivery of Maths teaching and ensure pupils fulfil their academic potential.
* Create and tailor the curriculum with opportunities for high-quality CPD to support personal goals.
* Apply curriculum development knowledge in a specialist SEMH setting and build positive relationships with pupils with SEMH and ASD needs.
* Monitor pupil progress and manage staff professionally to enable pupils to flourish.
* Support safeguarding and promote welfare of pupils; participate in DBS checks as required.
What We Are Looking For
* Educated to degree level and/or Qualified Teacher Status with Curriculum Development Experience.
* Calm, engaging, resilient, with an innovative teaching style focused on helping every child reach potential.
* Understanding of SEMH and ASD to adapt to pupil needs and form positive relationships from day one.
* Committed to safeguarding and professional development; able to contribute to a positive, supportive school environment.

Lamledge School provides specialist education to pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are part of Acorn Care and Education, within Outcomes First Group, a leading provider of specialist education and residential care for vulnerable pupils and young people. We are a small school on the outskirts of Shifnal with a focus on therapeutic and trauma-informed education.
