My client is top international law firm, seeking a talented and motivated Newly Qualified Solicitor to join their award-winning pensions team. The successful candidate will work with both trustee and employer clients, delivering legal solutions across the spectrum of pensions advisory work, contentious matters, and investment issues.
The Team:
* A market-leading pensions practice with a unique ability to provide their clients with a fully integrated offering across pensions law, pensions litigation, and pensions investment.
* They operate at the forefront of the industry, advising on some of the most complex and high-value pensions issues across the UK and internationally.
* The team works closely with colleagues across the Firm – including specialists in corporate, finance, employment, tax, data protection, and regulatory matters – to deliver holistic, strategic pensions advice.
The Role:
* Advising on all aspects of pensions law, including strategic de-risking, regulatory compliance, and transactional support.
* Supporting clients through investigations by the Pensions Regulator, Pension Protection Fund, and HMRC.
* Advising on complex pensions disputes including overpayments, rectification claims, and claims involving professional advisers.
* Drafting and negotiating pensions-related aspects of commercial contracts, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings.
* Supporting funding negotiations and employer covenant reviews.
* Advising on international pension arrangements, including establishment, revision, and termination.
* Advising on pensions investment matters including governance, risk management, outsourcing, and investment strategy.
* Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to provide comprehensive client support.
The Candidate:
* Proven experience advising trustees and/or sponsoring employers on DB pension scheme issues.
* Experience in de-risking strategies such as buy-ins, PIEs, and enhanced transfer exercises is highly desirable.
* Exposure to pensions litigation or regulatory investigations is advantageous.
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work collaboratively within a team.
* Commercial awareness and client-focused mindset.
