Job Overview
The Composite Fitter will be responsible for trimming, fitting, bonding, and assembling high-spec composite components. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of composite materials and processes, with a proven ability to work from engineering drawings and ensure that all components meet strict quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications. Trim, shape, and fit composite parts using a variety of hand and power tools. Bond composite components using adhesives, resins, and mechanical fasteners. Assemble components in accordance with defined sequences, ensuring correct fit, alignment, and surface finish. Conduct visual inspections to ensure components meet quality and dimensional standards. Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the work area. Collaborate with Fitting Section Team Lead and Engineering staff to resolve issues and suggest improvements. Accurately document all fitting and assembly activities, including any non-conformities or deviations. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies. Stay up to date with industry best practices, materials, and techniques. Perform other duties as required to support the department and wider production objectives.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar composite fitting role. Proven background in the fitting, bonding, trimming, and assembly of composite components. Experience working with parts for motorsport, automotive, or aerospace applications. Comfortable using air tools, hand tools, jigs, and measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively to resolve challenges. Able to communicate clearly and effectively across departments. Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
