Our client, a leading player in the water infrastructure sector, is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful commercial management of projects from tender handover through to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of projects from tender handover to final account
Monitor cost efficiency across operational teams
Manage cashflow and sales forecasting
Prepare and submit monthly payment applications
Conduct cost/value reporting and forecasting
Assess, issue, and manage sub-contract certificates
Oversee budget management and procurement of sub-contractors
Prepare and negotiate contract and sub-contract documents and terms
Attend internal and external meetings as required
Promote and uphold safe working practices within the commercial function
Mentor and develop junior members of the commercial and delivery teams
Liaise with other departments and support wider business needs
Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in a similar role
Strong commercial acumen with experience preparing detailed cost reports and forecasts
Proficient in managing and administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
Excellent negotiation skills
Effective communicator, confident presenting to all levels including external stakeholders
Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word
Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications & Sector Experience:
Degree qualified in a relevant cost/commercial discipline
Experience within the water industry is preferred
