Job Description
As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for completing domestic gas servicing, repairs, and safety checks, as well as undertaking new boiler installations. Additionally, this role offers the exciting opportunity to assist our renewable energy teams with heat pump projects. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience, a passion for transitioning into renewables, and excellent communication skills. The role will be field based around the North East and Yorkshire regions.
Objectives of this Role
· Execute domestic gas servicing, fault-finding repairs, and safety checks to the highest standard.
· Complete new domestic boiler installations efficiently and safely.
· Assist the renewable energy teams with heat pump installations and related projects.
· Contribute to the overall operational excellence of the organisation.
· Provide exceptional customer service for all clients.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
· Perform routine domestic gas servicing and reactive maintenance.
· Conduct comprehensive gas safety checks and issue required certifications.
· Carry out full domestic boiler installations and central heating system upgrades.
· Collaborate with the renewable energy team to support heat pump project delivery.
· Maintain accurate records of procedures, parts used, and inventory.
· Ensure strict compliance with all gas safety standards and participate in regular safety inspections.
· Maintain effective communications with the office team to ensure complete information is logged on the CRM and customers are kept up to date with job progress.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:
· Valid ACS Gas qualifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1)
· G3 hot water and water regulations qualification
· Proven track record in domestic gas servicing, breakdowns, and installations.
· Excellent communication and comprehension skills.
· Customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work under your own initiative and part of a team.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Preferred:
· Prior experience or strong interest in renewable energy systems, specifically air source/ground source heat pumps.
· Experience in the plumbing and heating industry.
· NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or a related discipline.
