As a Young Persons Worker in Cornwall, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £28,000 per annum (this includes a £1,000 per annum allowance). This will increase each year in line with our pay progression bands.

Job Opportunity
YZUP at We Are With You, is the commissioned Young Persons Drug and Alcohol Service for 11-18 year olds across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We have a vacancy for a Virtual Young Person's worker covering the county.
This is a Part Time, fixed term contract until 31/03/2027. You will be expected to work 22.5 hours per week Tuesday - Thursday. This role will cover West Cornwall.
This is not a standard recovery role. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing virtual service that is transforming how people access alcohol and drug support across one of the largest and most rural areas.
As a Virtual Recovery Worker, you will deliver high quality interventions to people who may never have engaged with traditional services. Through video, phone and digital platforms, you will complete assessments, deliver structured brief interventions and provide recovery focused support that genuinely changes lives.
You will be trusted to work autonomously, supported by strong clinical governance and experienced leadership. Your practice will directly influence how our virtual model continues to evolve.

• You will work flexibly and remotely while remaining fully connected to a skilled team

• You will develop expertise in digital recovery delivery, an area of growing national focus
• You will have genuine scope to shape practice, pathways and improvement
You will be expected to:
Screen and assess young people
Co-produce the Treatment Care Plan with the young person and review goal setting regularly
Deliver a range of psycho social interventions such as Harm Reduction information, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focussed Therapy, CBT based interventions etc
Complete case management information / data and outcome monitoring
Be part of a multi-agency safeguarding team around the child and attend any relevant planning meetings.
Essential Skills
We are looking for someone who is an experienced youth worker but who has additional knowledge of substance misuse or mental health issues affecting young people. You will be:
Highly organised and practical with proven IT skills
Be able to engage well with young people
Be able to work on your own
Have proven one to one skills with young people
Experienced in effective partnership working with other agencies
A good understanding of safeguarding process
Experience of risk assessment and complex case work
A full UK driving licence and access to a car. You will need to ensure business use is added to your insurance policy.
Most importantly a real passion for working with young people to help enable them to reach their potential.You will carry out comprehensive remote assessments, deliver evidence informed brief interventions and build structured recovery plans that are practical and meaningful.
