We are currently recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Stockton-on-Tees on a flexible supply basis. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build classroom experience, maintain flexibility, or further their career in education.
The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused and complete pre-set work in a structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising students across a range of subjects
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials
Encouraging student engagement and participation
Providing basic learning support where required
Maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment
Adhering to safeguarding procedures and school guidelines
Providing feedback to teaching staff following each lesson
Requirements:
Previous experience working in UK secondary schools is essential
Background as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or similar is desirable
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Confidence to lead a class independently
Clear and effective communication skills
Professional, reliable, and punctual approach
Good understanding of the UK education system
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
