Our Family & Friends Team carries out assessments for children and their families and delivers a broad range of support services tailored to their needs.

This role will be based within the Family and Friends team, with a focus on supporting Kinship Foster Carers, Special Guardians, and the children in their care.

As our service continues to expand, we're excited to welcome new Support Officers to our experienced and committed team. If you're passionate about supporting families and making a positive impact, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a 3-year fixed term opportunity, offering a chance to make a lasting impact while gaining valuable experience in a supportive team environment.

At Foster Wales Swansea, we:

* Help monitor placements and maintain accurate records.
* Support recruitment and retention activities for foster carers.
* Work closely with social workers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
* The role in the Family & Friends Team includes reviewing Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Support plans and providing varied support according to those plans, including emotional support, mediation, support and advice around issues such as parenting and contact, direct work with children and providing a duty service. You will also work as part of the team to provide kinship support groups, children's participation groups and arranging kinship carers and children's regular peer events.

* Experience working with children, families, or in a social care setting.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive, empathetic, and team-oriented approach.
* Ability to manage a varied workload and respond to changing priorities.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
